Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks' 25-year-old son, Chet Hanks, posted 11 emotional videos on Instagram in the wee hours of the morning Oct. 1 telling the world that he just got out of rehab for a severe addiction to drugs. He says his troubles stem from not being able to handle the pressures of being the son of such famous Hollywood actorS. This is so sad but there seems to be a happy ending at the end of this tragic story. Chet Hanks, 25, the son of Tom Hanks, has just admitted that he was addicted to cocaine and was smoking crack until he found God and decided to go to rehab. The rapper told his over 22,000 Instagram followers that he finally had to "admit to myself" that he couldn't continue doing drugs. He said at one point he was snorting cocaine so much that he clogged up his nose so badly that he resorted to smoking crack. Chet says that most of his demons are because he hasn't ever found a place to "fit in" when it comes to his famous parents, Tom and Rita Wilson.

In his Instagram video he says: “I just really had to take a look at myself and my life and the way sh*t was going and all the crazy stupid sh*t I was doing and just finally admit to myself that it wasn’t working. And I had to try something new and that thing was to not do any drugs or alcohol,” he goes on to say in another video. “It’s been a long journey discovering who I am because all the pressures that I’ve dealt with in my life — you know, being the son of my dad and everything. A couple months ago I was selling coke [and] doing coke until I couldn’t even snort it up my nose anymore because it was so clogged. I even smoked crack.” We appreciate his honesty and willingness to share his story in hopes to help others struggling with addiction.

Chet recently made headlines for allegedly trashing a hotel room in London after a wild night. He reportedly cost the hotel several thousand dollars in damages. He also was suspended from Instagram for a period of time when he was using the “N-word” in an offensive way, for which he also apologized for in his series of videos. Our thoughts go out to Chet and we hope he continues to get the help he needs.

HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Chet’s explanation?
