Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been canceled for nearly a year, but former TLC reality star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 10, hasn’t let that stop her from pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. The 10-year-old is back and making headlines once again, this time with the release of her new music video, “Movin’ Up,” which features everything from rapping to awkward dancing to Mama June, 36, cameos. Watch it here!
It’s Honey Boo Boo child! The former reality star teamed up with viral video artist Adam Barta on the release of her first single, which charts her family’s rise and fall from fame. “I’m the princess of this castle / Mama June queen of the house / Went from something to nothing / I holler and scream and shout,” she sings/raps.
Meanwhile in the background, Alana’s family — her mom Mama June, sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 15, and dad Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson — can be seen performing awkward dance moves as the little girl urges listeners to do the “Honey Boo Boo Bop” — their attempt to create the next viral dance craze. GR Media, the same company that created music videos for Teen Mom star Mackenzie Mckee and ‘Tan Mom’ Patricia Krencil, released the video on Sept. 30 via its YouTube channel.
Alana and her family originally rose to fame on the TLC reality series Toddlers & Tiaras before they scored their own show about life in McIntyre, Georgia. The show proved to be a huge hit for TLC, but was abruptly yanked from the air in 2014 after reports surfaced that Mama June was dating a convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, 54 – a man who molested her 21-year-old daughter Anna Marie ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, 20, in 2002. Though Mama June claimed that she hadn’t been aware of the sexual abuse at the time that it occurred, she did know when she brought him back around her children again.
Thankfully, it appears that Mama June has since moved on from McDaniel and possibly even reunited with her former husband, Sugar Bear. The two appear smiling and happy in Honey Boo Boo’s music video, which we can only imagine is a good sign for the troubled family. We hope that Mama June, Sugar Bear, and Honey Boo Boo continue to spend more time together as a family!
