Thankfully, Selena and Demi are still friends. “Interviews are done months and months before the issue is published. I [sic] lot can change between then and now. Don’t read into the bullshit,” Demi wrote on her twitter. Delena fans can breathe a sigh of relief upon reading that!
The misunderstanding all started when Demi’s Complex magazine interview was released on Sept. 29. In the spread, the singer was asked if she was currently friends with Selena and she quickly responded with, “nope.” That answer certainly confused fans because Selena and Demi were seen exchanging sweet messages on late August around the “Cool For the Summer” singer’s birthday. Then again early September when Delena shared an adorable selfie together on Twitter. Many wondered if their friendship was over, but thankfully Demi cleared that up for all of us!
Selena On Her Relationship With Demi: We’re Like ‘Family’
Selena and Demi may have their ups and downs together, but what friendship doesn’t? The “Same Old Love” singer opened up about her relationship with her longtime friend. “We went to a dinner, I think it was two weeks ago,” Selena told ET about reconnecting with Demi. “We were at the dinner, we were talking about her record, my record, just kind of catching up.”
Clearly whatever was said during that dinner had a profound affect on Selena, who counts Demi as a member of her family. “I love her. She’s like family at this point,” she continued. “It’s just nice to be able to see people that you grew up with succeed.”
