Talk about team work! Sharna had quite the emotional night on Sept. 22, and she got through it with the help of her partner, Nick Carter! She absolutely raved over him in this week’s exclusive blog.
Sharna Burgess definitely knows how to help Nick Carter. She told us the advice she gave him after his slip on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars, and then revealed that when she had a touching experience the following night, he really helped her our. If that’s not team work, I don’t know what is. Here’s this week’s blog, with some exclusive photos from Team SharNick!
I’m so proud of Nick this week! We had a lot of work to do having two dances this week — two very difficult dances like jive and foxtrot — and only four days to get ready. It really shows how talented he is, and how he can to get it together in a very short space of time. Going first on Monday night for our jive was certainly tough. Being the first ones up, we had to keep the energy rolling, and on top of that, we had a technical difficulty where the intro to our song didn’t play, so we were actually 12 counts behind when our track started. For our number, we had to rip pajamas off, get out of our beds, and run down the steps with no time to do it.
So despite that, I’m incredibly happy with the way Nick got it together, got on with the routine, and eve n after a slip, he got back up and kept going and absolutely nailed the ending. Nick did an incredible job at recovering from all that! And I said to him, “It’s not about how you start, it’s how you finish,” and I truly couldn’t be proud of him. I actually found out what he’s capable of, as a performer, and that makes me really happy!
Last night’s show was incredibly special to me to me because I had the opportunity to do something that was for my family — to thank them for all of their support, and tell them how much I love them. As pros on DWTS, we don’t usually get to make the story or the dance about us, so this was such a beautiful moment for me. I’m so grateful I got to share it with Nick, who stepped up to the plate, especially when I was emotional, and really was there for me… in his lead, his frame, in his presence in the dance, he was just perfection for me last night! And what a way to come back from yesterday’s mishaps!
I really think he showed how much he can grow in the short space of time and how much of a wonderful friend and dance partner he can be. I’m so proud of him, proud of myself, and very grateful that I was able to have that moment and dedicate it to my family who I know was watching in Australia and who I love so much. It just was an awesome night all around!!! Go #teamsharnick! =)
