Such a touching tribute. Selena’s father surprised fans with a rough cut of a song the late singer never professionally recorded, and it’s beyond amazing. Listen here!
More than 20 years after her death, Selena continues to live on through her music. Her father, Abraham Quintanilla, even released a brand new track from the singer at the urging of fans. Take a listen to “Oh No, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again” right here!
Abraham put the song up on SelenaQRadio.com, although he was originally skeptical, considering the song was never professionally edited, and it’s just a rough cut. Selena had once sang a verse from the track a cappella during an interview, though, and fans have been eager to hear the whole thing.
“Recently we had a lot of fans ask for a song by the name of “Oh No, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again” by Selena,” Abraham said, introducing the new music. “The song was never recorded professionally, but we found a tape where they’re in rehearsal and they recorded the rehearsal. The reason we never released it as one of her songs is because it’s not up to par as far as sound is concerned. But years later, my son recorded it, and we thought the fans would enjoy it even though it’s not a professional recording.”
And a great decision that was, because fans are enthused! Even though it’s been more than 20 years since the singer was fatally shot at just 23 years old, she still has an incredibly loyal following, and fans continue to support her music.
Selena was shot and killed by Yolanda Saldivar, who had once been appointed as the president of her fan club, but was terminated once it was discovered she had embezzled more than $60,000 and forged checks from the club, as well as Selena’s boutiques. SO sad.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of the new Selena song? Do you think her family should’ve released it, even though it wasn’t “up to par” with her other recordings?
