After months of putting himself out there for America to judge, Paul Zerdin walked away victorious on season ten of ‘America’s Got Talent.’ We chatted with Paul EXCLUSIVELY immediately following his win about how he felt and what he might have done differently!
When Paul Zerdin, 43, was announced as the winner of America’s Got Talent on Sept. 16, the Brit maintained his cool-as-a-cucumber exterior. However, when we chatted with Paul EXCLUSIVELY after the big moment, he admitted that he was completely freaking out inside! The ventriloquist expert also shared with us what one thing he regrets throughout his experience, as well as dished on his favorite judge!
“There have been occasional moments where I’ve been waiting in the wings to go on, particularly for these shows at Radio City Music Hall, where you are a bit nervous,” Paul told us EXCLUSIVELY. “There are thousands of people out there, and there are these judges who, as lovely as they’ve been, they’re intimidating. So I just said to myself, I had a little word to myself before I walked on stage, ‘Whatever happens, make sure you try to enjoy it,’ and so I would have done that more.”
Regrets aside, things ultimately went very well for Paul, and though he played it chill, internally, he was losing it. “When my name was announced, my heart skipped a beat and now I feel euphoric,” Paul said. “I’m always sort of low-key, sort of calm. I like to think of myself as a calm person but believe it or not, on the inside, I’m like, ‘I can’t believe it!'”
Of course, with the competition officially behind him, Paul was free to spill his true feelings about those crazy judges. So, does Paul have it out for Howard Stern? Or does he have a special soft spot for Heidi Klum? “I love all the judges, and I’m not being diplomatic here,” Paul said. “They all had a different opinion. I thought all the judges had something good to say and I really thank them all for being so supportive.”
Were you happy to see Paul win the whole dang thing? Or had you been rooting for someone else?
