OMG, our hearts can’t handle this! A new trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ was released on Sept. 16, and it totally gives away the most heartbreaking moment of the entire series. Don’t read on if you haven’t read the books — major spoiler alerts here!
We cannot WAIT any longer for the final Hunger Games movie to hit theaters! The release date is just a couple of months away, and to get fans super excited, another trailer dropped on Sept. 16. This one is even more dramatic than usual, though, as the whole focus is on one character who we know isn’t going to make it until the movie’s ending!
You guys, the Hunger Games moment we’re all dreading is becoming all too real. Readers of the book already know that in the franchise’s fourth installment, Mockingjay Part 2, Katniss’ sister, Primrose Everdeen (Willow Shields), dies while serving as a nurse during a final battle at the Capitol.
But even those who haven’t read the series — which you can buy here — might be weary of what’s about to happen once they see this new trailer! The whole thing is a tribute to Prim (literally, it’s called For Prim”) and features memorable moments she and Katniss have shared throughout the previous three films. Only toward the end do we get to see Katniss in her element: Confronting President Snow.
“I never asked for this,” she tells him. “I just wanted to save my sister and keep Peeta alive.” But his response is just another hint at what’s to come. “It’s the things we love most that destroy us,” he tells the leading lady. While we don’t know exactly how the movie will tackle Prim’s death just yet, we know it really (understandably) wrecked Katniss in the book — she even loses her voice for several days before gaining the courage to fight back.
Even though this is bound to be a super emotional and sad moment, there’s also a ton of action to come when Mockingjay Part 2 hits theaters on Nov. 20 — and we will be patiently waiting!
HollywoodLifers, are you excited to see the new film? Do you think the trailer gave too much away?
