Shake it, lady! Bindi Irwin kicked off her run on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ with a bang: by tearing off her zookeeper overcoat to reveal an adorably sparkling mini! Watch it below!
The 21st (!) season of Dancing With the Stars kicked off on Sept. 14, with tons of huge moments to talk about. However, Bindi Irwin, 17, nearly stole the show! Paying tribute to her late father, Steve Irwin, the talented teen began her trot in a zookeeper’s uniform, before quickly ripping it off to show off her shimmering green dress! It’s no wonder that she tied for best score of the entire night!
Bindi, along with partner Derek Hough, danced to the only song they could as they were honoring Bindi’s wildlife expert dad: “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John. Before the dance begun, Bindi explicitly discussed how she wanted to make her papa proud, a goal which she inevitably achieved.
In fact, judge Julianne Hough said Bindi’s was the best dance of the premiere episode! Okay, so she may be a teensy bit partial considering her brother is Bindi’s partner, but still! Carrie Ann Inaba also loved it, telling the pair that their energy was downright contagious. Their score came out to 24/30, matched only by Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess.
But apart from the minute long dance itself, what might have been the most joyful part of Bindi’s first DWTS outing was her response when it was over. Her smile might just have broken the record for biggest grin to ever follow a dance. The crowd seemed to feel it, as well. “I gotta tell ya, that’s the loudest response all night so far,” said host Tom Bergeron.
What did you think of Bindi’s first Dancing dance? And how did you like her taking off her top uniform to reveal the mini dress? Was that too revealing for a teenager?
