Roger has not played in a U.S. Open final since 2009, and he appears to be in good shape for an 18th major title. However, standing in his way is current world number one Novak. Roger has met up with Novak 41 times over the years. Roger holds the slight edge, winning 21 of those encounters to Novak’s 20. In the last match-up between the pair at the Cincinnati Open, Roger was victorious, breaking a three-game winning streak for Novak against him.
Either way, it’s sure to be an intriguing game, and one of the biggest sporting events of the year! Both competitors will not only be hoping to lift the trophy but also stand to win a cash prize of $3.3. million if they’re victorious.
