Other than The Wire, Idris is probably best known for his role as DCI John Luther on the BBC series Luther. After an almost two-year hiatus, Idris is returning to the role for a two-part miniseries, according to our sister site Variety.
The internet has been buzzing for quite some time that Idris could become the next James Bond. Many fans want it to happen, but Idris says it’s all in “rumor-ville” for now. However, he told Variety, “If it should happen, that’s proof there’s connectivity amongst human beings. If everyone wants something, they can make it happen. That would be true.”
Idris has a big year ahead of him. His war drama, Beasts of No Nation, will be released in Oct. 2015. He’s also currently filming The Jungle Book, Finding Dory and Star Trek Beyond. What a line-up! We’re going to be seeing a lot more of Idris in the coming year. Honestly, it’s what we’ve been waiting for!
Once again, we wish Idris the best on his special day.
