Second time’s the charm! Paula Deen is officially joining season 21 of ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ HollywoodLife.com can confirm, as well as music legend, Chaka Khan.
Paula Deen is back in the spotlight, and it’s finally for a positive reason! The chef, who has gone through the ringer the past few years after making racial comments, will dance her way back into our hearts on this upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, HollywoodLife.com has learned.
This isn’t the first time Paula is under demand! In 2012, we told you that our insiders were hoping she would join season 14. And now, seven seasons later, they have finally gotten her.The latest controversy for Paula was just last month when she dressed up as Lucille Ball, and posed for a photo next to her son, Bobby Deen, 45, — and he was dressed up in brown-face! This obviously didn’t go over well, especially after she was fired from the Food Network in 2013, for using racial slurs.
Who Else To Expect This Season
We’ve been telling you all week that many celebrities are being looked at for the season, and we can now also tell you that Chaka Khan, the incredible, 62-year-old funk musician will also be joining! Alexa PenaVega, the 26-year-old wife of Carlos PenaVega (yes, they combined their last names when they married), will also be on the show, our insiders tell us.
Bindi Irwin, Victor Espinoza, and Nick Carter have previously been announced by ABC, and without Len Goodman at the judges table, we know that celebrities will be filling in each week as guest judges — that will definitely be entertaining. See the full list of ABC’s new season here!
This season of Dancing with the Stars will premiere on ABC on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET. Are you excited? Will you root for Paula? Chaka Khan? Let us know!
