In the wake of the horrific murder of a TV reporter and a cameraman in Virginia on live television, people are finding it hard to keep their grief inside. They took to Twitter to share their shock and disbelief.
From the anchors, reporters and other employees who work at WDBJ7, to just those feeling horror, the outpouring of grief and support for Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, has been immense. Many took to Twitter to share their confused and devastated feelings during this time.
To say that Adam and Alison’s death was shocking is an understatement. The reporter and cameraman were filming an early-morning segment live on-air in Roanoke, Virginia, when a gunman approached them from behind, opening fire and killing them both. The woman who they were interviewing, Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce head Vicki Gardner, was also shot, but survived and underwent surgery for her wounds.
Just hours after Adam and Alison were murdered, their co-workers at WDBJ7 shared their grief for the loss of the two journalists, and their admiration for the people they were. Likewise, others shocked by the incident took to Twitter to express their sadness.
Praying for the #WDBJ family and the loved ones of Alison and Adam – I cannot imagine your grief, but please know many are lifting you up.

The death of Adam and Alison truly affected so many people. The fact that their murder was broadcast on live television while they were just doing their job makes the incident so much more heartbreaking. We can’t imagine what Alison and Adam’s coworkers are going through at this time. Like those who shared their sorrow on Twitter, our hearts are broken for the loss of these two young journalists.
HollywoodLifers, please help us send our condolences to Alison and Adam’s loved ones at this time.
