During the finale of the Aug. 24 episode of Monday Night Raw, taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Seth was about to unveil a life-sized, bronze statue of his likeness. It was a present from WWE COO Triple H and his wife, WWE CBO Stephanie McMahon. The unveiling was meant to be the highlight Seth’s week, since he defeated John Cena in a “Winner Takes All” match at SummerSlam. The victory made Seth the first WWE Superstar to ever hold both the World and US titles at the same time.
When the curtain was raised on Seth’s statue, what he, Steph and Triple H found instead was Sting! The wrestler called “The Franchise of World Championship Wrestling” hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring since he lost to Triple H at WrestleMania 31 in Mar. 2015.
Steph and Triple H quickly got out of the ring. Seth wasn’t so lucky. He attacked Sting, but ended up on the wrong end of a Stinger Splash. Seth finally escaped, but left behind his World Title Belt. Sting raised it above his head, sending a clear message to the Authority. He wanted a title shot and Sting demand was granted! Seth Rollins will face Sting for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Night of Champions on Sept. 20!

The Aug. 24 episode of Raw also featured John Cena confronting the man who cost him the match against Seth, Jon Stewart! Jon ended up taking an Attitude Adjustment, which left him knocked out in the WWE ring! Plus, Brock Lesnar, still angry over The Undertaker stealing a victory at SummerSlam, challenged the Deadman for a third — and possibly final — match!
What do you think about Sting’s return, HollywoodLifers? Are you excited that the Stinger is getting a WWE World Title shot at Night of Champions?
