“After an incredible run together, Alison Sweeney, 38, will not be returning as host of The Biggest Loser next season,” NBC told Access Hollywood in a statement on August 25. Her publicist also confirmed the departure to HollywoodLife.com.
This is so sad! After eight long years of being the hostess with the mostess on The Biggest Loser, Alison has decided to step down from her host post. The news was announced in a statement on Aug. 25 by NBC and confirmed by the actress’ publicist. However, Alison has yet to comment on announcement. The 17th season of The Biggest Loser begins filming next month and as of right now, it’s uncertain who will fill the Days Of Our Lives actress’ role.
Long before her departure from The Biggest Loser, Alison had also left her spot on the beloved soap opera Days Of Our Lives as Sami Brady in 2014. While her character may be gone from the show, Alison didn’t rule out any offers of returning. “I’d love to come back to Days,” Alison told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY in 2014.
With the the long running soap celebrating its 50th anniversary the week of Nov. 8, that would be a perfect time for Alison to return. “I talked to Ken [Corday, executive producer] about it,” Alison told us exclusively. “And was like for the 50th, if he has a big plan, I would love to be invited back.” We’re certain fans would love to see Sami back on their screen.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you sad to see Alison go?
