One Direction is planning on going on a much needed break after they release their fifth album. While fans are still trying to accept the news, the band’s producer opened up about why the group deserves a nice break.
Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. As One Direction finishes up their On The Road Again tour and record their fifth studio album, the group is going on an extended break. Their longtime producer, Julian Bunetta, explains the reasoning behind 1D’s break and how it could possibly last longer than a year.
When speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the One Direction producer and songwriter explained that Harry Styles, 21, Niall Horan, 21, Liam Payne, 21, and Louis Tomlinson, 23, are definitely taking a much-deserved break. “They’ve been doing something that no band has ever done — five albums, five tours, and a movie in five years,” Julian said. “It’s pretty prolific and incredible. It’s up to them. They might take a year off and miss it. They might take a year off and say you know what, I need another year off.” One year is already hard enough for Directioners. Knowing the group could possibly take more than a year off is unsettling.
When is this break happening? Well, according to sources close to the band, they’re saying March 2016 will be the last time we’ll see our favorite British boyband together. The four guys will come together at the beginning of 2016 to do promotional work for their fifth album, but that’s it. “This was the plan with or without Zayn. In fact, the band have been making amazing music and have been incredibly happy without Zayn,” the source said. “Of course they would’ve preferred that he had stayed in the band, but they would have taken this extended hiatus even if he hadn’t left.” After they have finishing promoting the album, the boys will be “free agents for the first time in five years.”
One Direction: The Truth About Their Bad Blood & Solo Careers
What exactly will the guys of 1D accomplish on their much-needed break from each other? Apparently solo albums are in the works and possibly some TV and movie gigs as well! “They want to focus on what their careers have given them and enjoy it by just relaxing and doing whatever makes them happy,” the source shared. We’re sure whatever the boys decide to do, their Directioners will support them 100 percent!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will One Direction get back together after they take their year long break?
