Happy Birthday, John Stamos! The ‘Full House’ actor turned 52 on August 19, but he practically hasn’t aged since playing Uncle Jesse. Coincidentally, he’ll be reprising his famous role in 2016 — and that’s just one of the many things he has to look forward to in the year ahead!
Twenty years after making us swoon as Uncle Jesse on Full House, John Stamos is still looking mighty fine at 52 years old, and for good reason: he’s had quite the year! Despite hitting a bump in the road with a DUI in June, he and his career couldn’t be doing better. Take a look at everything John has achieved and what he has coming!
John kicked off 2015 with a guest role on ABC’s miniseries, Galavant, in which he got to play a knight in a full-on metal suit and do some jousting. We’d say that’s a pretty cool start to the year!
But that was just the beginning for John. In March, he paid a visit to the Full House home in San Francisco, which had to be exciting. John has been very vocal about his love for the show that made him a household name, and he had previously mentioned that the close cast would love for a sequel to happen.
And then, just a month later, the stars aligned (literally!) — a Full House reboot was officially happening! John actually made the announcement himself on Jimmy Kimmel Live just moments after finding out Netflix had given the original cast and crew the green light for a 13-episode revival, appropriately titled Fuller House. Fans went absolutely nuts over the news, so we can only imagine how John and the rest of the returning cast members felt!
As mentioned earlier, John found himself in some trouble with a DUI in June and proceeded to check himself into rehab for substance abuse treatment in July. Although it was an unfortunate situation during such an exciting time, John managed to turn things around quickly and even tweeted about feeling healthy and grateful upon leaving rehab only a few weeks later.
In no time, it was full speed ahead with Fuller House — the cast posted a flurry of reunion pics from their first days back on set, including John’s own confirmation that Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky are still happily married! Plus, John got to celebrate his 52nd birthday early poolside with his Full House family. Although fans have to wait until 2016 for the premiere of Fuller House, John is clearly having a great time being back with his favorite TV family!
In the meantime, John still has another show to look forward to in the fall! He’ll star alongside Josh Peck in FOX’s new show Grandfathered, where he plays a man who finds out he’s a father and a grandfather at the same time. Because of his new role, he got to attend the Teen Choice Awards on August 16, where he joked with Josh on camera and hung out with Lea Michele and Wiz Khalifa off camera. Needless to say, things are going pretty great for the birthday boy!
HollywoodLifers, help us wish John a much-deserved happy birthday in the comments!
