Miley Cyrus posed for the September issue of ‘Marie Claire’ where she unleashed her inner Edie Sedgwick for the retro glam cover shoot — and she looks oh-so-amazing. Do you agree?
Miley Cyrus may be known for her quirky style and edgy fashion sense, but her shoot for Marie Claire‘s September 2015 issue was all about retro glamour as she suited up in tights and a striped sweater, totally channeling the late Edie Sedgwick, with her short blonde ‘do parted to the side as she sported dramatic, kohl-rimmed eye makeup, which really made her piercing blue eyes pop.
One of my favorite looks from the shoot on Miley has to be the embellished mini dress she donned for the cover of the magazine. While the star often dresses down, she sure can clean up nicely — she looks absolutely stunning, and I can’t get enough of the fashionable images.
From the dramatic, kohl-rimmed eyes to the tights and cropped sweater, Miley looks just like the late socialite and Andy Warhol muse — this just might be one of my favorite Miley shoots ever. Inside, Miley opened up about sexism and her take on sexuality and how she struggles with it in the entertainment industry. “There is so much sexism, ageism, you name it. Kendrick Lamar sings about LSD and he’s cool. I do it and I’m a druggie whore,” she said.
The star also admitted she feels a kinship for kids that are outcast and don’t conform. “A lot of us are born into some shit, you know what I mean? Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about my being gender-fluid and gender-neutral. And some people snarl at that. They want to judge me. People need more conventional role models, I guess. But I just don’t care to be that person,” she said.
