The secret’s out! Howard Stern revealed all the exciting details from Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s secret wedding on his SiriusXM show on Aug 10. The biggest news? Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel officiated the star-studded ceremony!
The details behind Jennifer Aniston, 46, and Justin Theroux’s, 44, secret wedding just keeps getting better and better! First, it was revealed that Courteney Cox, 51, served as Jen’s maid of honor (um, can you say, #FriendshipGoals?). Now, thanks to Howard Stern, 61 we know that another celebrity guest actually officiated the ceremony: late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, 47!
Though he was careful not to spill the beans prior to Jen and Justin’s Aug. 5 wedding, the 61-year-old host didn’t hold anything back while talking about the surprise ceremony on his SiriusXM radio show on Aug. 10, including how he felt about Jimmy’s officiating abilities.”Jimmy was the preacher,” explained the shock jock. “He did a beautiful job. I didn’t think he’d get through it. Jimmy’s still depressed about that lion getting killed over in Africa…Ellen [Degeneres] was mad that I made fun of Jimmy for crying.”
For those who may not recall, Jimmy was one of the many celebrities outraged by the death of Cecil the lion at the hands of American dentist, Walter Palmer, 55, back in July. The late-night host even brought up the controversial killing in his opening monologue on July 28, during which he became chocked up and a bit teary eyed.
In addition to Howard and Jimmy, the wedding was attended by the couple’s good friends John Krasinski, 35, Chelsea Handler, 40, Sia, 39, Jennifer Meyer, 38, Emily Blunt, 32, Ellen DeGeneres, 57, Scott Campbell, Terry Richardson, 49, Orlando Bloom, 38, and Lisa Kudrow, 52. The ceremony, which took place at the couple’s Bel Air home and was originally billed as a surprise 44th birthday party for Justin, took place outside, where a large wooden deck was built, filled with plenty of nooks for comfortable lounging. There was also a raised stage at one end of the backyard, and a bar on the other. Jen reportedly kept the wedding very secretive. Staffers’ phones were reportedly taken the week leading up to the party, and no parking was allowed near the home.
Now that the wedding is finally out of the way, the newlyweds are ready to enjoy themselves since they have some time off — on Aug. 6 they were photographed boarding a private jet, heading to their honeymoon in Bora Bora. NO BIG DEAL, right?!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Jimmy would make a great wedding officiant?
