His absence was hardly inconspicuous, but Rob Kardashian had a reason for not attending Kylie Jenner’s 18th birthday celebrations at Nobu in Malibu on Aug. 7, and HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE details right here.
It was supposed to be a joyous occasion, celebrating Kylie Jenner’s 18th birthday, but her older brother Rob Kardashian, 28, was a no-show for the family birthday dinner. Now, HollywoodLife.com has learned that the troubled reality TV star didn’t want any part of the media “circus” that followed the celebrations.
“Rob just had absolutely no intention of going to Kylie’s 18th birthday when it became such a public event,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “With the way he feels about himself at the moment, the last thing he wanted to do was to go to Nobu in Malibu, a spot where the paparazzi camp out waiting for celebrities to arrive.”
Kylie was surprisingly joined by Caitlyn Jenner, 65, mom Kris, 59, as well as her older sisters for the event at the lush eaterie, which had E! cameras all around. Even though it was a special day for Kylie, Rob just wasn’t going to put himself there.
Our source adds, “With all the cameras there filming for E!, he knew it would’ve been an absolute circus. He just thinks it could’ve been handled more privately. That kind of showcase just isn’t for him, and it’s everything he hates.”
While we can understand Rob’s dilemma and struggle, couldn’t he have put that to the side for his little sister’s 18th birthday?
Rob Kardashian Snubbed Caitlyn Jenner Accepting ESPYs Award
As HollywoodLife.com previously told you, it isn’t the first time Rob has shied away from his family. When Caitlyn accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on July 15, Rob was a notable absentee in the audience. And as we EXCLUSIVELY reported, it was a decision he made because he didn’t want to deal with that “craziness.”
“Rob isn’t going to join the rest of the family at the ESPY awards to support Caitlyn. He’s just too caught up in his own world to pull himself together and show up,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY before the ceremony. “He says no way is he going to deal with all that craziness.”
