It’s been 11 years since ‘Friends’ aired its series finale in 2004, but Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are still closer than ever! In fact, they’re such good pals, that Courteney served as maid of honor in Jen’s wedding to Justin Theroux on Aug. 5 — and we’re kind of dying over it!
It was a Friends reunion at Jennifer Aniston, 46, and Justin Theroux’s wedding on Aug. 5, and the A-list actress brought the show back to real life by choosing her on-screen bestie, Courteney Cox, 51, as her maid of honor! Can you believe these ladies are still such good friends after all these years?!
Of course, it’s not surprising that the former co-stars still have a great relationship — after all, Jen is godmother to Courteney’s daughter, Coco, and helped Johnny McDaid plan his proposal to the Cougar Town star. But Jennifer has so many gal pals she could’ve chosen from, so this really shows how close the bond between the two really is!
Nearly three years after Justin popped the question to Jen, the pair finally tied the knot on Aug. 5 in the backyard of their Bel Air mansion. The wedding was small, attended by just 75 of the couple’s closest friends, including stars like Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Ellen DeGeneres, Will Arnett, Jimmy Kimmel, Tobey Maguire and more. Oh, and Jen and Monica’s other Friends bestie, Lisa Kudrow, was also there! Justin’s longtime friend and tattoo artist, Scott Campbell, served as best man.
Oh, and as if Courteney wasn’t already a good enough friend for taking on the day’s most important role, we’ve also learned that she was the last one to leave the party, staying until 3 in the morning! Jen actually surprised most of the guests, telling them the event was just a surprise party for her fiancé, who turns 44 on Aug. 10.
Now that the wedding is finally out of the way, the newlyweds are ready to enjoy themselves since they have some time off — on Aug. 6 they were photographed boarding a private jet, heading to their honeymoon in Bora Bora. NO BIG DEAL, right?!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers: What do you think of Courteney being Jen’s maid of honor?
