Seriously?! Zayn Malik completely blindsided his now ex-fiancee, Perrie Edwards, by dumping her via text message. Ouch. Why, Zayn, why?
Even after three years together, Zayn Malik, 22, decided to end his engagement to Perrie Edwards, 22, with one simple text message! Yep, he pulled a Russell Brand. The text message breakup just two weeks ago caught Perrie by complete surprise, and they haven’t talked since! “It’s unbelievable, he’s an immature little boy with no thought for anyone else’s feelings,” The Sun reports. “Perrie is one of the sweetest girls in the world and she’s stood by him through thick and thin. But he ended their engagement with one text message and in the two weeks since there’s been complete radio silence between them.” A source confirms to HollywoodLife.com that Zayn broke up with Perrie by text.
Wow. Not cool, Zayn. Not cool. The former One Direction singer joins a long list of celebs like Russell and Kourtney Kardashian, 36, who’ve called it quits by text. Looking at you, Russell and Kourtney Kardashian, 36. Poor Perrie is heartbroken over the split but is trying to stay strong. The source continues, “Who does that? She’s devastated, which everyone understands, but is doing her best to focus on work and to put on a brave face in public.”
HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY that Zayn felt pressured when Perrie pushed him to set a date for their wedding. When she continued to ask him, he finally told her he didn’t want to get married. We also found out that his flirting with other girls really got under Perrie’s skin, and their sex life had fizzled over the last couple of months. Zayn now has plans to remove his tattoo of Perrie on his arm. That’s how you know it’s really over.
Perrie has been leaning on her Little Mix bandmates for support since the digital breakup, while Zayn has gotten support from his former 1D boys, Harry Styles, 21, and Louis Tomlinson, 23. Zayn seems to be doing just fine after the split. He tweeted on Aug. 5, “You just can’t do enough for some people, I guess,” which may or may not be a dig at Perrie. He also promised fans that “amazing” music was on the way.
