Meek Mill has had ENOUGH! He’s already called out Drake for not writing his own songs, but now, Nicki Minaj’s man is making it clear in an angry Instagram rant that he finds this to also be a problem in the rap industry as a whole. Read his latest diss here!
Does Drake, 28, ACTUALLY use a ghostwriter?! Meek Mill, 28, sure is convinced, but according to him, the Canadian native definitely isn’t the only rapper who doesn’t write his own rhymes. To make that point, Meek went on an angry social media rant to call out the industry for giving respect to artists who don’t pen their own lyrics.
“So this is rap now! You can have a n#%ga write ya raps and that’s acceptable,” he wrote, alongside a side-by-side photo of himself and Drake. “Just like in the streets you can tell on people and still b the man and get the same respect as the next man! It’s almost over for the game lol I’m confused outchea…”
So, how is he going to retaliate? Join a new genre, of course! “I’m making all trap music after I do my thang with them!” Meek added. “We still loaded! #quentinmiller changed the game #youtherealmvp.” His final statement, regarding Quentin Miller, is a special dig at Drake, because he’s the guy who Drizzy allegedly used as a ghostwriter! And, to knock the former Degrassi star down just a bit more, Meek actually worked with Quentin on his most recent song, “Wanna Know.” BURN!
Drake wasn’t too bothered by Meek and Quentin’s collaboration though — just after the song was released, he took to Instagram to share a very telling photo of himself totally cracking up. Many fans are taking the “Started From The Bottom” singer’s side in this war, especially since he released two songs, “Charged Up” and “Back To Back,” in response to Meek’s claims.
The part where this whole thing gets a little tricky is that Drake is very good friends with Meek’s fiancé, Nicki Minaj, 32, who has kept quiet throughout the whole fight. But that didn’t stop Drake from making references to the “Anaconda” singer in his new songs. “Rumor has it, I either f**ked her or I never could, but rumor has it, hasn’t done you ni**as any good,” he sings in “Charged Up.” Whoa!
HollywoodLifers, tell us: What do you think of Meek’s rant? DO you think this feud will EVER end?!
