The feud between Drake and Meek Mill isn’t over yet! Drizzy has released a second fight-back track targeted at Meek, and this time he’s making the diss even more personal by bringing Nicki Minaj into it!
Drake, 28, and Meek Mill, 28, have been at each other’s throats since Meek claimed that Drake doesn’t write his own music. Now Champagne Papi has laid out yet another track that not only proves Meek wrong, but throws some serious shade. In “Back to Back,” Drake pulls no punches, inferring that Meek’s fiancée, Nicki Minaj, 32, is too good for him—listen to the track below!
After Meek called out Drake for using a ghost writer on his verse in Meek’s song “R.I.C.O.” on July 22, it’s been a back-and-forth public feud between the two. Drake has dealt with the situation doing what he does best — rapping. He initially responded to Meek’s claim by releasing a song called “Charged Up” on July 25, but “Back to Back” takes the cake for the ultimate diss.
“You love her then you gotta get a world tour/Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/I know that you gotta be a thug for her/This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more,” Drake raps on the track, referring to the fact that Meek is opening up for Nicki on her Pinkprint tour. Yikes, Drizzy definitely isn’t afraid to make Meek feel inferior to his fiancée! But the Nicki disses don’t stop there—Drake even makes a prediction that she’ll eventually break up with Meek! After rapping that he never wants to hear about their argument again, he continues, “Not even when she tell him that they better as friends.”
Wow, Drake clearly thinks Meek doesn’t deserve Nicki. He has said before that Nicki is his “ideal woman”—maybe this is his way of trying to tell her to leave Meek and find someone better, like himself! Take a listen to the track below!
As if any more disses need to be included in the track, it’s not just the lyrics that are a direct shot at Meek — the picture included with the audio is of Toronto Blue Jay Joe Carter from the 1993 World Series, when the Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies. Considering Drake is from Toronto and Meek is from Philly, it couldn’t be more obvious that “Back to Back” is targeted directly at Meek!
What do YOU think Drake is trying to say in “Back to Back,” HollywoodLifers? Do you think he took things too far by bringing Nicki into the feud?
