Is it time for one more round of Bennifer? Jennifer Lopez’s BFF, Leah Remini, has spilled the beans on whether or not she plans to reunite with Ben Affleck following his split from Jennifer Garner.
If Jennifer Lopez, 45, and Ben Affleck, 42, were to ever get back together, we would legit lose it. Because behind Britney and Justin, they’re def one of our fave celeb power couples to have ever existed. While both married — and divorced — after their 2003 breakup, the two have been linked together here and there during the 12 years they’ve spent apart. Will they finally make it official again? In a new interview, J.Lo’s gal pal, Leah Remini, 45, has finally revealed the truth!
During a July 22 appearance on Watch What Happens Live to promote her TLC reality series, Leah Remini: It’s All Relative, the former sitcom star was inevitably asked about her bestie, Jennifer. The hot topic? Her love life — specifically, how it pertains to newly-single Ben.
When asked if the Ben and Jen would ever be a thing again, Leah sadly let us down by giving the complete opposite answer of what we were hoping to hear. “I really don’t know,” she told host Andy Cohen, after joking that she’d like to find out herself. *Bummer*
“Even if I did, I probably wouldn’t [say], because it would be weird for me to comment on people’s lives,” she continued, crushing our souls and further confirming dreams don’t come true. “But no, not anything that I know of.”
A Brief History Of Bennifer Round 1
Bennifer garnered their famous portmanteau in the early ’00s after a whirlwind romance that began on the set of their universally panned flick, Gigli. While their movie flopped, their love soared — and after just one year of dating, plans for a lavish 2003 wedding were made. Though the precious pair never made it down the aisle, they’ve remained in touch via email.
“We don’t have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there’ll be an email saying, ‘Oh, your movie looks great,'” the Gone Girl actor told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012. “I remember when she got American Idol. I said: ‘This was really smart. Good luck.’ I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She’s put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I’m really pleased to see her successful.”
While fans still pray that they will one day rekindle their relationship, the “Jenny From The Block” singer remains attached to her 28-year-old on-again, off-again beau, Casper Smart.
