Can you believe One Direction has been a band for five years? July 22 marked the 5-year anniversary that Simon Cowell, 55, grouped Harry Styles, 21, Liam Payne, 21, Niall Horan, 21, Louis Tomlinson, 23, and Zayn Malik, 22, together, and Harry took to Twitter to celebrate the important milestone! Get ready to feel all the feelings.
“We have been a band for five years And it is impossible to thank anyone enough for all the support they have given us over this time,” Harry wrote on Twitter on July 22. “All the crew that we have been so lucky to work with, and everyone who is behind the scenes. We thank you for everything that you do… To you who support us, in any way, thank you. We wouldn’t be here without you. You did this and we thank you for having us. All the love.”
How sweet! It’s so nice to see Harry taking time to appreciate Directioners across the globe. The band has been through a lot in the past year — Zayn left the band in March 2015. It was recently revealed that Louis was expecting his first child with celebrity stylist Briana Jungwirth, 23. The four boys are currently on their On The Road Again world tour and working on their fifth album.
Simon Cowell Says One Direction’s Ready For ‘Time Apart’
The boys are celebrating their fifth anniversary as a band, but they might be ready for a break. One Direction has been going non-stop with their tour, and Simon admitted that the boys want to branch out and experience new things for a bit.
“In terms of the band, they’ve got enough hits now they can take some time off and do some other stuff they want to do,” he told The Sun. “Then I hope they’ll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again. It’s a fun job, but it’s absolutely their decision.”
