This will pretty much leave you dead. Paula Abdul just dropped by ‘The Late Late Show,’ and she gave host James Corden the opportunity of a lifetime: To reenact her iconic ‘Opposites Attract’ video!
You know the video: Paula Abdul‘s instant-classic “Opposites Attract,” which features the dancing diva alongside an animated kitty cat known as M.C. Skat Cat. The 1988 single helped to make Ms. Paula a musical superstar, and when she dropped by The Late Late Show on July 21, she paid tribute to it. Paula imitated her own dance moves from the music vid, while host James Corden, naturally, took on the role of the animated cat. Yes, it is as absurd as it sounds and yes, you need to watch it immediately!
Not that there was any question, but obviously, Paula Abdul has still got it. All of it! She whips out– step for step– the music video’s original moves with the exact same ease that she did back then. Oh, and did we mention that the former American Idol judge is 53? Because she is. She’s 53. Let us know when you’ve picked your jaw up from the floor.
However, perhaps even more jaw dropping than Paula’s killer moves, is how ah-mazing she looks in that white jumpsuit. Like, seriously? How is this possible?
Anyways, back to the silliness of this video. Paula and James go so far as to get in bed with one another! Of course, for the lines, “She makes the bed, and he steals the covers,” they kinda had to.
The two hop between some satin sheets and that’s when things get steamy! Eh, kinda. They’re comfortable at first but then, as the song suggests, James goes ahead and steals all of Paula’s covers, leaving her exposed and likely chilled! However, we’ll cut him some slack since, well, he’s rocking a cat suit– and whiskers.
What do you think of James’ and Paula’s “Opposites Attract” recreation?
