Miranda Lambert was so desperate to save her marriage to Blake Shelton that she begged him to try a trial separation before filing for divorce, a new report claims. She wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the ‘Sangria’ singer, but her last minute plea wasn’t enough to save their union.
Miranda Lambert, 31, reportedly just wanted to give her marriage with Blake Shelton, 39, one more chance by trying a trial separation, but he wasn’t interested. “The House That Built Me” singer tried everything she could to save her marriage, but her husband of ten years allegedly knew it was over, a new report claims. Find out how Miranda tried keeping Blake from leaving.
The “Little Red Wagon” singer wasn’t ready to give up on Blake completely — she wanted a trial separation “to reflect” on their marriage, but he just wasn’t having it. “She wanted to try and make it work, maybe have more of a separation, but he said, ‘I’m filing,'” a source told People. However, a source close to Blake claims that he had already done all he could for the marriage. “It came on very quickly,” the source said. “It was very clear that things weren’t going to work out. So he decided to end it. He still loves her very much.” So sad. They were totally country music’s cutest couple. Click to hear more details about the Miranda and Blake split.
If Blake was feeling broken up about the end of his marriage, he sure wasn’t showing it while recently hitting up a crowded dive bar in New Hampshire. After tipping back a few cold ones, he reportedly toasted to his then pending divorce and then went to a karaoke bar where he sang Tracy Byrd‘s classic, “I’m From The Country.” Although it doesn’t really go hand-in-hand with his divorce celebration, TMZ revealed this line from the song: “And when the beds get full we can sleep in the hay. We’re from the country and we like it that way.” Well, we guess that’s one way to commemorate the end of their marriage.
