Looks like Taylor Swift’s got herself two more famous friends! Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart love Tay’s music, and they had an important question to ask her: can they join her squad? OMG!
Who knew that Ian McKellen, 76, and Patrick Stewart, 75, were such big fans of Taylor Swift, 25? The best friends visited NPR’s Ask Me Another, and recited the lyrics to “Bad Blood” and “Blank Space,” respectively. Patrick followed up the epic episode by tweeting the link to Taylor, and asking her something amazing: could they please join her squad? Tay understandably freaked out over the request!
“Bad Blood” and “Blank Space” are two of the biggest hits of the year, but we really didn’t think Ian and Patrick knew anything about them! They proved everyone wrong when they hit up Ask Me Another and did something incredible: they each recited the lyrics to their favorite T. Swift song! Patrick wanted Taylor to know that he and Ian were diehard fanboys, and tweeted her this beautiful question:

Squad goals reached! Taylor’s got herself an amazing group of crazy talented and wonderful friends, and now she’s got Ian and Patrick on her side. Can you believe that? Taylor couldn’t; she flipped out when she read the tweet, and immediately told the guys they could absolutely be her friends.

She’s totally right! The two are lifelong friends who do everything together, from co-starring in X-Men, to traveling the world, to adorably walking around NYC in their matching bowler hats. They’re a two person squad, and they’d make Tay’s all the better!
“OMG I DIE!!! (no really, I might. I’m old.)” Patrick answered. Hilarious! It’s going to be a lot of fun if these three actually get together. A big rousing singalong to 1989, maybe? We can’t help but imagine how epic the “Bad Blood” video would’ve been if they’d all joined forces a little sooner!
HollywoodLifers, would you like Ian and Patrick in your squad? Who do you think Tay should add to her friend group next? Let us know in the comments and be sure to take our poll!
