Whoa — one month after his DUI arrest, John Stamos, has checked himself into rehab. We never expected this from Uncle Jesse!
Yep, you read that correctly. John Stamos, 51, is currently in rehab. The beloved Full House star has entered treatment after being arrested for driving under the influence in Beverly Hills, CA on June 12. He has begun a residential program for the treatment of substance abuse. Click inside for more details!
The catalyst for John’s rehab stint, which People first reported, is the aforementioned DUI he was charged with after driving erratically in LA almost 30 days ago. The actor was hospitalized the very same night for a mysterious medical condition.
Following the incident, the Hollywood hunk Tweeted to his fans: “Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I’m home & well.” Regardless of all the drama, John is set to star in a Netflix reboot of Full House, titled Fuller House, and his new Fox sitcom, Grandfathered, both premiering this fall.
The Beverly Hills Police Department pulled John over at around 7:45 p.m. on June 12, People reported at the time. Police officers handcuffed John at the scene before paramedics took him a local hospital, according to TMZ.
He was cited for DUI and released to the hospital to receive care for his unknown condition. John is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11. The following is a statement given to HollywoodLife.com from the Beverly Hills Police Department:
On June, 12, 2015, at approximately 7.45 p.m. Beverly Hills Police Department received numerous calls reporting a possible DUI driver in the area of Canon Dr, and from Santa Monica Boulevard. The BHP stopped the vehicle at Canon Dr. and Santa Monica Boulevard. The driver and sole occupant was identified by his driver’s license as John Phillip Stamos, and by his own statement. Due to a possible medical condition, Mr. Stamos was transported to a local area hospital by the Beverly Hills Fire Department for observation. Subsequent investigation determined that he was driving under the influence and was placed under arrest. Mr. Stamos was issued a citation for driving under the influence and was released by the hospital.
Unfortunately, these are not the first instances where John has shown signs of having an alcohol problem. John made an appearance on an Australian TV talk show in 2007 where he slurred his words, made crude and rude gestures in front of host Kerri-Anne Kennerley and wandered around the studio in a daze, the New York Post reported. He later confessed to being drunk during the interview.
Here’s to hoping John has a speedy recovery and is able to remain healthy and sober!
