How sad! Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced June 30 that after months of speculation they are ending their 10-year marriage. They released a statement that says despite how difficult this split is they plan to ‘go forward with love and friendship.’
Ben Affleck, 42, and Jennifer Garner, 43, are divorcing. One of Hollywood’s longest couples is no more, and the two announced their divorce on June 30 in a very emotional statement. The couple, who have three kids together, say in their statement that they have their children’s best interest at heart and plan to continue to actively co-parent.
We had thought that these two would last forever, but it just simply wasn’t meant to be. The couple released the following statement on June 30:
After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.
There had been hints that Ben and Jennifer were going to split up for months. A neighbor of the family reportedly told the New York Daily News that they’ve been living separate lives for years. “Things were definitely a lot more upbeat and optimistic [in the past],” the insider said, “Now there’s friction and tension between them. They’re like two ships passing in the night.” The Daily News wasn’t the only source saying that their marriage was on the rocks. Ben and Jennifer’s marriage woes were also reported by Ok! magazine, who claimed that the couple had already separated and were waiting for the right time to announce their split. Apparently, that time is now.
