If you aren’t wearing water-proof mascara, read no further. ‘Frozen’ star Idina Menzel recently performed a duet of her anthemic hit, ‘Let It Go,’ with one of her biggest (little) fans, and it will surely thaw even the iciest heart.
Frozen superstar Idina Menzel is currently in the midst of her world tour, but on a recent stop in London, she found the time to make one fan’s day (and, likely, her year). Backstage after her show, Idina met with 10-year-old Amy Carmichael, an aspiring singer and cancer survivor. Like most 10-year-olds, Amy’s favorite song is “Let It Go,” and so, Queen Elsa herself decided to share a duet on the ubiquitous song. Check out the absolutely gorgeous clip– if your heart can bear it.
Amy had been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia back in 2012, but she has been cancer-free for eight months. When Idina heard Amy’s story, as well as Amy’s upcoming plans to sing “Let It Go” at an event for a friend of hers who had died, she wanted to meet with the inspiring youngster.
Following her sold-out concert at Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, Idina chatted with Amy for a bit, before asking her if she would sing that now-legendary song with her. Amy agrees, and the two share something which will surely bring a tear to your eye.
“It was exciting and Idina was so nice,” Amy told Daily Record. “My friends won’t believe me. I’m going to tell them all,” she added. Amy’s mother, Heather, shared in her daughter’s joy. “It was a dream come true,” she said. “Idina seemed very touched when she heard that one of Amy’s friends had passed on last August and that she was going to sing ‘Let It Go’ in his memory at a ball this November.” Who would’ve thought that the Ice Queen’s heart was so warm?
Are you ugly crying, too, or is that just us?
