Zendaya is SO over people talking about her hair! The Disney Channel star rocked one of her short wigs to the BET Awards on June 28, and had a message on Twitter for any haters who didn’t like the look.
Welcome to another awards show where Zendaya’s, 18, hair is the talk of the night! But once she caught wind of some haters talking about the look, the actress took to social media to stay one step ahead of her critics. And she totally laughed off anyone who had something negative to say!
“When people don’t like your hair but they tweetin bout you tho….#idgaf #idgaf,” she wrote, with two laughing-crying emojis (And just in case you need a refresher on Internet lingo, #idgaf stands for ‘I don’t give a f—‘). Along with the tweet, she shared two photos of herself totally rocking the short wig and making funny faces.
We personally thought Zendaya looked incredible at the show — she totally OWNED the red carpet in a short, sparkling shirt dress, and her glowing skin was the perfect complement. “We wanted to keep Zendaya’s makeup soft and ethereal while giving her complexion and body a golden glow,” her makeup artist told HollywoodLife.com. “We wanted to make her skin golden and flawless to amplify the impact of her dress full of iridescent jewels!”
In terms of the entertainer’s hair, this is, of course, not the first time her locks have been the center of attention. To the 2015 Academy Awards, she wore her hair long and in dreads, which prompted a major controversy on the show Fashion Police, when Giuliana Rancic said the 18-year-old looked like she smelled “like patchouli oil and weed.”
After that, Kelly Osbourne and host Kathy Griffin quit the show, and E! put the series on hiatus until next September. It was announced on June 17 that the late Joan Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, would be taking over her mom’s original position as host when Fashion Police returns in the fall. She’ll be working alongside Giuliana and Brad Goreski.
