The form baseball star, who has played for teams like the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants, was found with multiple gun wounds at the scene of the crime — so scary! Find out what happened.
The MLB Network analyst died in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide involving he and one other woman, police told People magazine of the tragic incident. The body of a deceased woman was discovered at the scene, but unlike Darryl, she only had one self-inflicted gunshot wound. The police have identified the woman as identified as Monica Jordan, the sports star’s girlfriend.
The cops were originally called to Darryl’s home on the afternoon of June 21 in response to a “domestic situation,” reports the Houston Chronicle. It is also being reported that the couple lived together with her three kids and the couple’s 14-month-old child, according to KHOU. The 14-month-old was allegedly in the home at the time of the crime, but was unharmed and is now in the care of the Texas Child Protective Services, according to Heavy.com.
A friend of Jordan’s told the Heavy.com that she was “very quiet” which made the whole ordeal “so shocking.” More details about the case are still being investigated. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.
