She’s so brave! Iggy Azalea is opening up about her confidence struggles. Despite all her success, and having a dreamy new fiance, the singer still deals with low self-esteem just like so many others! Isn’t it refreshing when celebs get real?
While Iggy Azalea, 25, has talked about her insecurities in the past, the singer surprised us by speaking with TODAY on June 16 about self-doubt just months after admitting to getting breast implants. Sadly, for Iggy, the topic of her looks has been a constant discussion ever since the singer became a household name in America. Iggy’s confessions are quite shocking. You have to read what she had to say!
“Some days I want to crawl into a cave because I don’t feel confident at all, and then other days I feel great,” the blonde beauty told TODAY. “I think it’s like that for all human beings, not just young women. I think being confident 100-per cent every day is something to aspire to, but I don’t think it’s humanly possible for anybody.” During the interview, she offered advice expressing to love your flaws no matter what. “I think it’s just having that honest moment with yourself and other people, and almost admitting and embracing that your flaws are the thing about you that you sometimes feel bad about but they can empower your own self,” Iggy continued on TODAY.
While we think Iggy is beautiful no matter what, her honesty will help so many out there. We actually spoke with an insider in May that told us a bit more about her struggles. “Iggy has a crippling insecurity about her looks. She was very awkward growing up, and felt like she was teased about her appearance,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “It’s heartbreaking — she actually dislikes almost everything about her appearance. She is changing herself into a whole new person.”
The internet can often be a cruel place, and for Iggy it meant taking a step back to avoid all the negativity. After being attacked online from body shamers in February over her booty cellulite, the singer went on a Twitter rampage (you go, gurlll) to express her anger.
“Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it’s shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol. I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace,” Iggy posted in a series of tweets. “I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that. To become nasty because of the way I feel iam treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise i will try to keep smiling. But I also want to let my fans know iam taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.”
