Jamie Sangouthai’s death was so devastating, but Khloe Kardashian is hoping something good might come out of it. Will the tragedy finally be the wake up call Lamar Odom needs to start appreciating his ‘precious’ life?
Lamar Odom is beyond upset over the death of his best friend, Jamie Sangouthai, but Khloe Kardashian, 30, is hopeful that the horrible news may eventually have a positive effect on her ex, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned. Here’s why!
“Khloe’s hope is that Jamie’s death is a real wake up call for Lamar,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “A reminder that life is short and he needs to make the most out of every minute of it. Khloe and Lamar have wasted so much time and energy dealing with his demons, so she really hopes Lamar wakes up and starts living life like it’s precious.”
It’s been more than two years since Khloe filed for divorce from Lamar in 2013, but the split has yet to be made official by a judge, and it doesn’t seem either party has made moves to speed up the process. Although it’s an incredibly sad situation, perhaps Jamie’s death could be what finally helps Lamar get his act together, so he and Khloe can actually be together again.
Khloe and Lamar may not be in a relationship anymore, but they’ve stayed in contact since the split (whenever she can get in touch with him, that is), and, as HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY reported, she’s been there for him since Jamie’s sudden passing.
“Khloe tracked Lamar down and has been talking to him,” an insider told HollywoodLIfe.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She’s been amazing, listening to Lamar’s pain and being a shoulder to cry on. She’s been his emotional rock during this heartbreaking tragedy. Lamar can’t talk without bawling his eyes out. He’s been crying all night and day. It’s so, so sad.”
Sadly, Lamar is really taking Jamie’s death hard because they had a falling out not too long ago, and Lamar had actually cut his friend off completely, our source said. “Lamar thought it was for the best, as Jamie was really struggling and looking for enablers. Now, he doesn’t know if he made the right decision.”
