So cool! After the ‘Saved by the Bell,’ and forthcoming ‘Full House’ tell-all movies, Lifetime has decided to take a stab at ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ by making an unauthorized movie about the behind-the-scenes drama during the show’s first four seasons.
Lifetime is allegedly making The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story, which tell the story of the behind-the-scenes drama from the best show to ever come out of the ’90s. Expect the actress who plays Shannen Doherty to have a lot of screen time.
The TV movie “will show the roller coaster ride of the program’s first four seasons, highlighting the drama between cast members and producers both on and off-set, including the series’ journey from several near-cancellations to its massive success and imprint in the cultural zeitgeist and lasting impression it has made on millions of people to this day,” Lifetime told HollywoodLife.com.
Howard Braunstein and Peter Green will serve as executive producers, while Christian Bruyere will produce and Vanessa Parise will direct a script written by Jeff Roda.
Beverly Hills, 90210, which which ran on FOX for 10 seasons between 1990-2000, starred Luke Perry, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, Douglas Emerson, Carol Potter and James Eckhouse. In later seasons, Tiffani Thiessen, Hillary Swank, Vanessa Marcil and Lindsay Price were added to the mix.
Unfortunately, we won’t see any of these stars in the Lifetime movie, as actors will be playing younger versions of their present-day selves. But, there’s still a chance we’ll see Jennie, Shannen, Jason and the rest of the gang in future 90210 projects.
‘Beverly Hills, 90210 Unauthorized Movie’: A Real Reunion Next?
If asked, Jennie told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she’d be open to a reunion. “If they came to me and talked to me about [a reunion], I would be open to it because that show is very important to my life! I would have to see who else says yes — I wouldn’t want it to be me and one other person!”
This new TV movie only gives us more hope!

Here is the rest of the interview below…
The question you get everyday and every second, when will we get a 90210 reunion, spinoff, etc. Is it possible?
JG – Oh I know! If they came to me and talked to me abut it I would be open to it because that show is very important to my life! I would have to see whom else said Yes, I wouldn’t want it to be me and one other person! (LAUGHTER)
What would you like the ideal plot to be?
JG – Oh God! I would never even know! (LAUGHTER) It would have to be something really out there that nobody would expect! (LAUGHTER) I have no idea! I am just laughing even thinking about it and all the possibilities!
Congrats on the engagement, what are some things that you are gearing up for over something else, what are some challenges that you are expecting?
JG – Thank you! Everyday has a little stress to it, you have people coming in and you have to entertain them and you want everyone to be happy but you can’t forget what the day is about! So you have to keep your future husband your priority and then go from there!
Everyone asks you about 90210 but what is your 90210?
JG – Oh gosh! I love shows like House of Cards, shows that you can just binge watch, but I get very upset when I binge watch a whole season and its over and I don’t have anything to watch anymore! I feel like, Oh God, what should I watch now! I need to find something else to binge on!
What role from your past if it isn’t 90210 would you like to return to if you had the chance?
JG – I really liked ‘What I Like About You!’, that relationship between the two sisters was great, I would love to do that again if I could! That character was a lot of fun!
