The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors faced off in the NBA Finals yet again on June 14, and Game 5 of the series determined who would take the new lead in the tournament. After a hard fought battle, Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers!
After the Golden State Warriors tied up the NBA Finals with Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4, it was inevitable that Game 5 would be one electrifying game. LeBron James, 30, and Stephen Curry, 27, came face-to-face again on June 14, and it was Golden State who reigned supreme. The Warriors snagged a 104-91 victory over the the Cavaliers. Way to go, Golden State!
The first quarter tipped off, and almost immediately the Warriors signaled their intent by racing into an early 6-point lead. But Lebron, and the Cavaliers showed their fighting spirit to weather the storm and both teams ended the first quarter level at 22 points each.
And there was hardly anything to separate these two in the second quarter, even when the Warriors scored 8 consecutive points. The Cavaliers rallied, thanks to Lebron who had already scored 34 points at this point, as the Warriors held the slightest of leads – 51-50 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Warriors began to show their strength in numbers – managing to limit the Cavaliers with some fine defense. In fact, the Cavaliers only scored 17 points in the third, as they trailed by 6 points at the end – as the clock ran out it was 73-67 in the Warrior’s favor.
Lebron and Curry went head-to-head in the first with two big 3-point plays. First, Lebron sank one from downtown to bring the Cavaliers to within 1 point. However, a Curry 3-pointer, followed by a Klay Thompson, 25, shot from distance gave the Warriors a 5-point lead. And the momentum continued for the Warriors as Curry turned on the style to lead his boys to a 104-91 win.
The Warriors clinched the first win in the series in Game 1 on June 4. However, LeBron and the Cavs came roaring back in Game 2 and Game 3. Their two consecutive wins put the Warriors in a tricky situation. Game 4 was key for the Warriors. Steph and his team fought valiantly for a 103-82 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 4 on June 11. But that’s not all that went down in Game 4.
Yes, this actually happened. During a pre-game huddle, LeBron accidentally flashed his penis to millions of viewers on June 11. The Cavaliers forward was adjusting his shorts when cameras caught a peek at his member. The internet went nuts over the NSFW glimpse.
In addition to the serious wardrobe malfunction, LeBron also suffered an injury in Game 4. After being fouled by Andrew Bogut, LeBron crashed into a photographer and cut his head on a camera. Game 4 wasn’t the best for LeBron. Poor guy!
