Get ready for some afternoon terror, y’all. A brand new trailer for MTV’s upcoming thriller, ‘Scream,’ has just dropped, and it’s sure to turn your knuckles white. Watch it now!
Ahead of its highly anticipated premiere on June 30, another heart-pounding trailer for Scream, has just been released. The episodic thriller, which will be MTV’s modernized take on the 1996 classic horror film, stars Bella Thorne in that iconic Drew Barrymore role, and if this trailer is any indication of what’s to come, the series will be just as deadly as the movie. Check it out right now– if you think you can handle it!
This trailer, just as the show will do, begins with the gruesome murder of Bella’s character, sending the small town of Lakewood into chaos. “Welcome to Lakewood, where no one can hear you,” we are told.
“Maybe we should be afraid,” says resident bad boy Kiernan Wilcox (Amadeus Serafini). “A bunch of drunk teenagers, a party by the lake…”
“You have a dark mind,” Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald) tells him. “You have no idea,” he responds, before the two start to ravenously make out. Naturally.
However, the fun party quickly takes a turn for the deadly, and it is made clear very quickly that Bella’s killer play to strike again. “By the time the first body is found, it’s only a matter of time before the bloodbath commences,” Noah Foster (John Karna) tells his terrified classmates. “Until there’s no one left,” he adds.
From there, we get a series of equally horrifying cutaways. A girl sprinting through a field in the dead of night, another girl standing alone in an empty street, asking the person on the other end of the phone, “are you watching me?” Why do we have a feeling that the answer to that is “duh?”
What do you think of this new Scream trailer? Are you excited for the show to premiere?
