Piper Chapman, is that you? Prior to the big return of their series ‘Orange is the New Black,’ Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon are gracing the cover of ‘Rolling Stone’– and the pictures are so hot the ladies could be arrested (bad pun, but it’s true)!
After what feels like an eternity, Orange is the New Black returns to Netflix for a third season on June 12. While we can really have no clue what’s in store for Piper (Taylor Schilling), Alex (Laura Prepon) and the rest of the women serving their time at Litchfield Penitentiary, we do know that the leading lady and her leading heartache– well, their offscreen counterparts, anyway– have graced the new issue of Rolling Stone. Along with a ton of gorgeous pics (duh), the two, along with Laverne Cox and other cast members, are revealing what it is they love so much about Orange, and how the show is totally changing the TV game!
“We’ve revolutionized television,” Laverne told Rolling Stone, in what is a definite understatement. Laverne, who is transgendered, was working in a restaurant prior to her time on OITNB, and was doing so up until three years ago. “The unprecedented diversity that we just saw in pilot season I think would not be possible if it weren’t for us.”
Though Taylor couldn’t have imagined the impact the show would have, she admits that she knew it was something extraordinary. “There was a moment, though, where we were shooting the first season that everybody gelled so much in the cast, it was so extraordinary,” she said. “There was really a sense of ensemble that I thought, ‘this feels very special and the writing felt very special.'”
Laura agreed. “We all jumped in because we knew it was something special and different,” she said.
Do you love Orange is the New Black? Are you excited for the new season?
