Welcome back, Patti Labelle! The 70-year old icon was a fan favorite during Season 20 of Dancing With The Stars, winning the viewers’ hearts before ultimately, getting eliminated. However, Patti triumphantly returned for the season’s finale on May 19, sending it off in style! Not only did she dance, Patti took to the stage to knock out a breathtaking performance!
The DWTS finale wouldn’t be complete without Patti Labelle — and she knew it!
First, she and her partner, Artem Chigvintsev, got down low and funky as the two danced to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club.” While Patti’s shoe didn’t fly off this time, the crowds ate it up as she and Artem broke it down on stage!
After the dancing was done, Patti went to work, showing all the fans that the Queen of Rock n’ Soul doesn’t need the DWTS crown to rule. Patti sang an emotional rendition of her song, “Two Steps Away,” reminding Riker Lynch, Rumer Willis and Noah Galloway how far they’ve come during this season and how close they are to taking home the top DWTS prize.
This was the Season of Labelle! Though Patti suffered a knee injury in week two, she powered through and continued to perform until her elimination in week five. Even though she was eliminated, Patti returned one week later to help celebrate DWTS’s 10th anniversary! Patti was joined by Lil’ Kim and Amber Riley – both contestants on prior DWTS seasons – and the trio belted out a powerful version of Patti’s hit song, “Lady Marmalade.”
What did you think of Patti’s performance on the DWTS finale, HollywoodLifers?
