They may be royals, but they’re still human. It’s a tough job taking care of a newborn baby, so Kate Middleton and Prince William have reportedly asked their family for help. Kate’s mom, Carole, will be stepping up to lend a hand with Princess Charlotte for the next month.
Kate Middleton, 33, and Prince William are taking it all in after welcoming their new baby Princess Charlotte on May 2. As they settle into their new life of being parents of two, they’ve welcomed a little extra help from family members.
Kate Middleton Asks Mother To Help With New Princess
Kate undoubtably has her hands full with two children under the age of two. It’s no surprise the Duchess will need a little help, especially once Prince William’s paternity leave ends. A source told Us Magazine that Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, will be staying with them for several weeks to help with the new baby.
Carole will help with feeding, bathing and diaper changes of the Princess Charlotte, according to Us. “She will be there for the first month to help out,” an insider told the outlet. The Duke and Duchess have opted to not hire any extra nannies, but they did reportedly hire a night maternity nurse for the first three months.
The source went on to say, “Kate feels like she owes so much to her mom for helping out during George’s birth. Nothing feels better than having your mum around during a time like this.”
Even after Prince William returns to work, Kate will still be able to count on him for support. “William has to work a certain number of hours a week but won’t have a set timetable. So they’ll be able to spend plenty of time together as a family,” according to Us.
Princess Charlotte Named After Late Princess Diana
Family is everything to Kate and William, and that’s why they spent a great deal of time trying to figure out what to name their daughter. The Duke wanted to honor his late mother Princess Diana, but he opted to not make the baby’s first name Diana.
“They never wanted to name the princess Diana because there was obviously to much that would come with that in comparison,” a royal insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “They want her to have her own life, her own story.” It’s great they want to make sure Charlotte is an individual, regardless of being royalty.
