Panic! At The Disco’s ‘Hallelujah’ — New Song Released
Panic! frontman Brendon Urie, 28, shared the new song through the band’s official Tumblr page on April 20. It’s the first song since the band’s fourth album, 2013’s Too Weird To Live, Too Rare to Die!.
It’s no surprise that with a title like “Hallelujah,” it’s a powerful spiritual anthem — one for both sinners and saints! The tune opens up with a triumphant chorus of trumpets and from there, it’s a rolling blast of positivity. If you’re feeling blue or need something extra to help jump start your day, this is your new favorite song.
In addition to the video, Brendon wrote a message to all his fans.
“First off, thank you. Thank you for always being there. For speaking your mind. For following what you believe. For allowing me to grow. For granting me the opportunity to live my dream. Words simply can’t express my full appreciation and gratitude for you.”
Brendon goes on to say that as he’s starting “a new chapter of [his] life,” he’s filled with “excitement” and a “sense of hope.” After listening to the new song, we can feel it! Brendon didn’t give any more details on the next Panic! At The Disco album, but this song should hold fans over until more news becomes available.
The release of “Hallelujah” comes after founding member Spencer Smith announced his departure from the band. The drummer left Panic! on April 2, 2015, leaving Brendon as the last original member.
Ryan Ross: Panic! At The Disco Lead Guitarist Joining One Direction?
A clever Panic! At The Disco fan played an innocent prank on One Direction fans in March. While the Directioners were mourning Zayn Malik leaving the band, someone edited the One Direction Wikipedia page to list former Panic! guitarist, Ryan Ross, as Zayn’s replacement! While Panic! fans enjoyed the little joke, you better believe that Directioners weren’t laughing.
