Drake, 28, took advantage of being in the headlines for his kiss with Madonna, 56, at Coachella…by using the talked-about moment as an opportunity to release new music! After premiering his new track “My Side” at the festival, the rapper released its official audio on April 13.
Drake’s New Song ‘My Side’ Released After Madonna Kiss
In the song, Drake raps about a troubled relationship, begging his female subject to let him share his side of the story before she shuts him out completely.
“My Side” will appear on a special version of Drizzy’s mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which he put out as a surprise online in February. The mixtape’s physical version, which is being considered a “special collector’s edition,” will be released on April 21.
There will also be another new song on the mixtape — so get excited, Drake fans!
Oh, and in addition to the new music, Drake also announced his Jungle Tour, a series of United States dates that kick off May 24 in Houston, Texas! Future will be joining him for the shows.
Could Madonna also make a surprise appearance when Drake hits the road?! The pop singer surprised Coachella fans on April 12 when she hit the stage with the 28-year-old to perform “Human Nature,” but what really got everyone talking was the kiss she planted on his lips during the show!
Despite reacting with a horrified expression, Drake took to Instagram on April 13 to explain how he really felt about the kiss. “Don’t misinterpret my shock!!” he wrote. “I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel [100 emoji] about that forever.”
Madonna also defended the lip-lock, telling off haters in the process. “If you don’t like me and still watch everything I do. Bitch, you’re a fan,” she posted to her Instagram page. That’s right!
