‘Teen Mom OG’ Recap: Amber Hits The Road On Her Book Tour
Tonight’s episode started out with Amber getting ready to get on the road for a publicity tour for her tell-all book about fights, drugs, sex and her time in prison. Before she leaves for the tour she wants to have her daughter Leah sleepover. When she calls to ask Gary, he shoots the idea down and tells Amber that he has started Leah on a strict bedtime schedule for school. Obviously, this doesn’t make Amber feel good about being told she only gets a few hours with her own daughter. She sarcastically tells him, “I love the faith you have in me as a mother, I don’t know how much I need to prove to you.”
At one point during the show, you start to realize that Leah picks up on her parent’s issues more than we think. She tells her dad that his girlfriend Kristina isn’t allowed on TV with her because she doesn’t want her mommy seeing them together. She’s afraid it will make Amber mad. Gary tries to laugh it off at first, but clearly it hits a nerve.
When Amber goes to pick up Leah, Gary tells her they need to be back by 7:30 PM. So that doesn’t give Amber much time to play at the park with their daughter. Gary starts to blow up her phone, which just enrages Amber even more, but she follows his rules and drops Leah off on time.
Amber’s book tour starts and fellow Teen Mom star, Kaitlyn Lowry, joins. Both girls are promoting their books, and travel all over the south together on a luxurious tour bus. Amber’s final stop was in LA on Dr. Drew‘s radio show, Love Line. She reveals that if communication with Gary doesn’t work, she’s going to have to fight for custody of Leah.
Catelynn & Tyler Prep For The Baby
Now that Catelynn and Tyler know that they’re having a girl, they start prepping for her arrival. They decide to take on the nursery first and paint the room pink and purple. The couple also start buying necessary baby items likes clothes, a baby carrier and Catelynn’s mother purchases a crib for the couple.
Tyler comes to the decision that he wants to go to film school and fills out the online application for the upcoming semester. He tells Catelynn he wants to start as soon as the baby is born.
During tonight’s episode Tyler was thinking a lot about Carly, because of all the talk about their second baby. He decided to put together a video collage of pictures of their first daughter, which is perfectly okay until he went one step further and posted it online. He broke a big rule that Carly’s adoptive parents had set, no pictures or videos were to be posted of their daughter online. When Catelynn questions his actions he gets upset and tells her that he doesn’t think it’s right for them to dictate what he can and cannot do with Carly’s photos. Catelynn’s afraid this will ruin their relationship with Carly’s parents, but Tyler disagrees and thinks it’s a nice gesture that he posted the video. He admits he pictured the whole adoption situation differently, and is mad that Carly’s parents knew what they were getting into when they adopted her from them.
Later on Carly’s parents call Tyler and as he expected, they were very upset. Catelynn in turn becomes upset with Tyler’s actions and says, “I don’t care if the world can’t see her. I get to and my family gets to and that’s all that matters. Why jeopardize that over something small. We signed her away, we don’t have any rights to her.”
Maci Finally Gets Through To Ryan
Now that Ryan has moved in with his girlfriend, he can no longer use his parents as the middle men when it comes to picking up or dropping off Bentley. Maci and him plan to meet to exchange their son, but like usual, Ryan is late. Maci winds up waiting close to an hour, but then finally decides to just drop Bentley off at Ryan’s parent’s house. When he finally shows up, Maci is gone which enrages him more and he continues to blame her for their ongoing issues. Ryan calls to tell her off and says, “You’re such a dumba**” and hangs up on her.
When he gets to his parent’s house, his father tries yet again to talk some sense into him, and somehow he gets through, because when Maci tries one more time to reach out to Ryan to talk about their issues, he surprisingly agrees to meet her. The pair grab lunch together and discuss how they’re going to move forward from here on out. When Maci tells Ryan she wants him more involved in their son’s life and to co-parent with him and not his parents, he agrees and says he will be more reliable. But will it last? You’ll just have to tune in next week!
