Is Ryan making a deal with the devil? It may just happen! In an exclusive look of the March 30 episode, perfectly titled, ‘Reunion,’ we see that Ryan wants answers from Joe about Strauss — and he’ll do whatever it takes to get them.
“What took you so long?” That’s the question Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) asked Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) at the shocking end of last week’s two-hour special, but what’s next for the arch enemies? Well, Ryan needs a favor — and Joe never does anything without thinking of himself first. Plus, meet the brand new villain ready to terrorize NYC!
‘The Following’: Joe Carroll & Ryan Hardy’s Reunion Is Not So Friendly
“I need him ultimately, I need help with this Strauss [Gregg Henry] character,” Kevin says in the BTS video for next week’s The Following.
“Dear oh dear you are in so much trouble. Why would I help you, what do you want from me?” Joe asks Ryan. “What do you want?” Ryan asks back. For some reason, bargaining with Joe Carroll doesn’t quite seem like a smart idea — and I think Kevin Bacon agrees. In the interview, he goes on to explain that even though Joe has been in solitary confinement, he somehow “knows things” about what’s going on in Ryan’s life, and “it’s very disconcerting.”
Introducing Theo . . . The Next Creepy Villain In New York
However, there’s something even creepier happening in this sneak peek.
Michael Ealy, who you may recognize from Almost Human makes his debut on the episode as Theo, the new villain who will take the role as “a brilliant, chameleon-like killer who will push Ryan to the brink.”
Executive producer Alexi Hawley explains that Strauss and Daisy [Ruth Kearney] are attempting to “start a new life with these false documents that were created by this mystery best student of his. He’s trying to disappear, and from this set up we now introduce our new, big mystery villain, we will come to know as Theo.”
And that’s who we see: Theo, dressed as a clown, terrorizing the city. We only see him for a second but it is terrifying.
Are you ready for The Following? The new episode airs on Monday, March 30 at 9PM ET.
