Well, this sounds familiar. After the shocking finale of ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ EP Marlene King is dropping some serious spoilers for next season — and one is very similar to one of our old faves, ‘One Tree Hill.’
If you haven’t yet watched the epic season five finale of Pretty Little Liars, well you’re seriously missing out. Not only did we finally find out who “A” was, there was also an epic return of a fan-favorite character (in the creepiest way possible). So, what does this mean for season six? Where will they pick up?
‘Pretty Little Liars’: Season 6 Time Jump, Just Like ‘One Tree Hill’
Don’t expect to see any liars on college campuses!
“I did say we’re going to do a four-year time jump and we will honor that before the end of season six,” executive producer Marlene King told E! “It’s really exciting I can’t wait to see the girls after they come back from college. It’s going to be awesome.”
You may remember that OTH did the same jump. After season four when the crew graduated from Tree Hill, season five premiered four years later, after graduation or wherever they were. And hey, it worked for them.
Not to worry though, you’ll still get to see the storyline that left you hanging last year play out — and of course, we can expect a graduation episode. The season will pick up with Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) still trapped — “and they don’t get out right away.”
Season 6 Will Answer Those Charles Questions
“Season six takes place in a very condensed period of time,” Marlene said, adding that they’ll actually be graduating midway through the season. “When we end the finale, it’s already late April-early May…but in 10 episodes, the Liars will be graduating. They will be putting this episode of Pretty Little Liars to bed.”
As for when season six begins, you can expect some answers about who Charles is.
“Yes, you will see Charles’ face. The girls will come face-to-face with ‘A’ before the end of the summer and ‘A’ will be completely unmasked,” Marlene added. She also said that the fans online are getting close to figure out the how and why behind Charles on their own — so nice job, PLL lovers!
Do you think it’s strange that PLL will do a time jump midway through the season? Let us know!
