’19 Kids & Counting’ Recap: Jessa & Ben’s Joint Bachelor/Bachelorette Party
Jessa and Ben decide the best way to celebrate their bachelor parties is to have a family flag football game. One team captain was Jim Bob, while the other was Ben. Jim was all business, “He was getting Jessa, but I’m going to win this football game.” As the boys took the field all of the girls sat in the bleachers cheering them on. We quickly start to see just how competitive Ben is, but after he scored the first touchdown, things began to unravel. While the boys played on the field, the girls got together and signed and presented a football to Jessa.
Jim Bob’s team wound up winning the game, but Ben knew the real prize was Jessa. Both the girls and the boys gathered in a circle to give the future married couple some words of wisdom. Jim Bob closed it out by saying, “Starting Saturday, be fruitful and multiply.”
The Duggars Remember Jessa Throughout The Years
Tonight’s episode was all about celebrating Jessa. Although her family remembers her being quite the handful, Jessa thinks other wise. Josh admits,”Jessa will tell you exactly what she’s thinking whether you like it or not.” While Jason says, “The phrase don’t mess with Jess is kind of like the name Jessie James, it’s like feared in the school world.” We got to see Jessa’s role as a teacher play out throughout the years.
Jessa admits that she’s the closest to her sister Jinger as she relived fond memories of the pair. The girls have been inseparable since Jinger’s been born. The family all feels like these two make the perfect team.
We also got to see how organized Jessa keeps the family, which started from an early age. Jinger explains that “Jessa loves organizing, whether it’s people or projects she likes getting things done.” Michelle remembers that it was Jessa who really stepped up for their family when Josie was born with severe health problems and she had to stay at the hospital. For Jim Bob he remembers that it was Jessa who always did the organizing and packing for their big family trips.
When the family decided to have a large flea market it was Jessa who organized the massive warehouse. She was also in charge of the family’s 40 volunteers for the flea market, which turned out to be a huge success.
Jim Bob remembers that for one of Jessa’s birthdays, she wanted to go skydiving and got Michelle to jump out of a plane too. The Duggar mom explained that, “Jessa likes adventure and she isn’t fearful. She adds the dimension to our lives that we all need. And we’re so grateful.”
Although Jessa is great at organizing, her cooking skills still need work.
The Seewalds Remember Ben Throughtout The Years
On tonight’s episode we also got a chance to see how Ben’s life played out before he met Jessa. He is the oldest child and was labeled the leader of all the kids. “He’s really kind and he acts like he’s your age and he treats you kindly,” Ethan said of his older brother.
Michelle remembers when Ben first started to come around her family. While Jessa remembers that she had a list of what qualities she wanted in a husband, and Ben met every one of them. And it wasn’t long after the pair became friends that Ben went to Jim and asked his permission to court Jessa. And by then the Duggars were 100 percent behind them. We also got to relive the day Jessa and Ben got engaged.
