Jennifer Lopez is a woman of many talents, but being a mother is definitely her favorite one. The ‘American Idol’ judge told HollywoodLife.com exclusively just how emotional it was to play a mom separated from her child in the new animated film ‘Home’.
Jennifer Lopez, 45, isn’t slowing down any time soon. The mother-of-two is currently promoting her latest role, an animated character in the new movie, Home. HollywoodLife.com got to talk to Jennifer personally about how much this new role meant to her.
Jennifer Lopez on ‘Home’: ‘It was Super Emotional’
Jennifer’s latest project was lending her vocals for the upcoming animated film, Home. She plays “Lucy,” a mother who becomes separated from her daughter. HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively just how emotional this role was for JLo.
“It was almost to easy for me to do this voice for the movie, it as a small part but its about being distraught trying to find her child. It was easy for me to think about how that would feel. So I was super emotional through it all.”
As for her kids reactions, she told us — “It was wonderful to work on the song and to work on it for the film was great! With it being a kids movie and my kids being able to see it and having them be so into it is the best thing about it. My kids thoughts about this song really has me moved. That is the best thing that could have happened!”
So sweet. It’s great that her little ones were able to see their mom become a fun animated character.
Jennifer’s Dress During ‘American Idol’ Performance Of ‘Feel The Light’
Jennifer is known for her amazing style, and when she performed her new song for the movie, Home, she didn’t disappoint.
She took the stage on American Idol‘s March 19 episode wearing a stunning dress that consisted of fabric, 20 feet in diameter, which projected scenes from the movie, and amazing special effects. Jen’s costume designer, Mariel Haenn, told HollywoodLife.com excessively the idea behind the gown.
“A lot of things made this dress special, particularly it’s an idea that we’ve had for a very long time that we were just waiting for the right time to execute it. The white dress on it’s own was an idea that Jennifer had for a performance, but then when we were working on the creatives for the Home music video, we talked about using the dress as a canvas to project stuff onto it, and incorporate the movie into her dress, which is something I’ve never seen before. It felt really special,” Mariel told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
She went on to say, “[Projection] is something that Jennifer has always wanted to do, and when she was working on this song and we were working on the creatives for the video, she thought that this was the perfect place for it all to happen.”
