Kate Middleton’s Hair On St. Patrick’s Day — Get Her Braided Bun
Kate is not a stranger to rocking detailed hairstyles! Just days before March 17, the Duchess tended to her royal duties wearing a similar twisted side bun, but this style looks even more intricate!
A typical chignon is created by looping and pinning loose hair from a ponytail until a chic bun is created, but this look features braids and twists for a fun spin on the traditional look.
Kate Middleton’s Rope Chignon: Get The Look
Matrix Celebrity Stylist George Papanikolas gave us some simple steps on how to recreate Kate’s look:
“Start by spraying both Matrix Style Link Texture Builder and Matrix Style Link Hold Booster into dry hair to make hair workable.
Then, take a small square 3″ x 3″ square section of hair at the back of the head and create a small ponytail.
This is your anchor to start attaching the rest of the hair. Twist and knot hair piece by piece into the anchor to create the sculptural chignon. Secure with hair pins.
Spray with Matrix Biolage Freeze Fix Hairspray to set the style!”
To make this style look extremely detailed, like Kate’s, overlap your braids in different directions.
