Fans of both ‘Veronica Mars’ and ‘iZombie’ may have noticed similarities between the two, since both were created by Rob Thomas. However, if you think the two heroines would be gal pals in an alternate universe, think again!
Veronica Mars and iZombie have two very important traits in common: they both have butt-kicking ladies at their center, and they were both created by Rob Thomas. Though Veronica (Kristen Bell) and iZombie‘s Liv (Rose McIver) might seem like they’d make a perfect butt-kicking duo, Rob insists that they are actually very different from one another– for one reason in particular!
‘iZombie’ Premiere: Rob Thomas Compares New Series To ‘Veronica Mars’
Yes, they are both incredibly badass ladies, but according to the guy who created them, Veronica and Liv are, for the most part, very different.
Living life as a zombie who’s also a member of the Seattle police department, Liv lives her life by a strict, law abiding code. Veronica, meanwhile, pretty much lived her life with abandon, following very few rules as a private investigator. Because of this, Rob believes the two would not be friends (ya know, if they somehow met in a parallel, girl power universe).
The primary difference between Veronica and Liv is that “the upside of being a P.I. is that Veronica never had to follow rules. Whereas working for the Seattle police department, Liv is forced to play by the rules,” Rob told our sister site TV Line.
Ugh, say what you will Rob, but in our minds, Veronica and Liv are total BFFs and nothing is ever going to change that.
‘Keep Eating Brains’
Veronica aside, Rob also discussed what other obstacles Liv will face during the zombie-dramedy’s first season.
“Basic rule, the thing that we talked a lot about, is that as long as these people that get scratched keep eating brains, yes, they go pale, their hair goes white, but they’re able to function,” Rob said. “They could pass potentially for human. If they stop eating, they will turn into the traditional George Romero zombie.”
What do you think of iZombie so far? Do you think Veronica and Liv would be besties?
